Pakistan reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech about Islamabad’s involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, saying he was “disappointed”. Addressing a program in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said that the terrorist incident in Pahalgam is an attack on ‘Humanity and Kashmiriyat’ and its purpose is to incite riots in India. He said that its aim was to incite riots in India and to disrupt the livelihood of the working people of Kashmir. That is why Pakistan targeted tourists. Prime Minister Modi also praised the people of Jammu and Kashmir for standing against Pakistan’s conspiracy. The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are now ready to give a befitting reply to terrorism. This is the same terrorism that burnt schools in the valley, ruined hospitals and ruined generations.
On 22 April, the tension between the two atomic-head neighbors increased after the firing was fired by militants in Basaron near Pahalgam. At least 26 people lost their lives in this attack. The next day, India took several steps against Pakistan in response to the terrorist attack, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty.
