Bengaluru Stampede: Karnataka Cricket Association took responsibility for stampede, resignation of secretary and treasurer

Karnataka State Cricket Association Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer ES Jairam have resigned from their posts. Also, both of them have taken moral responsibility of stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Let me tell you that after winning the title of IPL 2025, there was a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the RCB celebrations in which 11 people lost their lives.

KSCA and RCB had approached the Karnataka High Court regarding the FIR lodged on the stampede a day earlier. KSCA officials were relieved from the High Court. Arrest was given interim protection. After this, the secretary and treasurer of Karnataka Cricket Association had to resign from his post.

The statement said that, it is reported that even after our role is very limited, we want to take moral responsibility due to unexpected and unfortunate events in the last two days, we want to tell that last night we have resigned from our post as Secretary and Treasurer of Karnataka State Cricket Association through a letter to the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association.
