BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that the board will issue advisory for the kind of stampede that happens in Bangalore, there is no such accident in future. On Wednesday, 11 people died in a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the celebration of IPL winner RCB. A large number of fans were gathered to get a glimpse of their favorite players and during that time there was a stampede.
Saikia believes that the hasty victory procession caused a tragedy. He also set an example of the victory procession in the open bus of the Indian cricket team in Mumbai after winning the T20 World Cup last year. He said that the BCCI had planned the Victory Parade carefully, so it became very smoothly.
Saikia said in a conversation with CNN-News18 that BCCI has no control over how a team is celebrated after the tournament. But the board may issue advisory to prevent such incidents from happening in future.
