Voting on the proposal on Wednesday in the United Nations Security Council is to be voted in Gaza as an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire that is honored by all the parties.
There is a possibility of veto on this proposal of the US. The demand for the release of all those held hostage by Hamas and other groups from southern Israel has been reiterated after the attack on October 7, 2023, in a proposal prepared by 10 elected members of the council.
Describing the human situation in Gaza as disastrous, the proposal also sought to immediately and remove all the restrictions imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid in Gaza and distribute relief material in a safe and uninterrupted manner with the United Nations and Human partners.
The proposal is to be voted on Wednesday afternoon and it has been brought at a time when there are almost daily firing incidents after being set up by Israel and US-backed aid distribution sites.
The secretaries of various UN member countries on Tuesday said on the condition of anonymity that they feel that the US would veto on the proposal. The US mission at the United Nations said that at this time he does not want to comment on the draft proposal. Israel’s United Nations Mission did not respond to the request of comment on the draft.
