Government should declare Golden Temple as No-War Zone, two MPs wrote a letter to PM Modi

Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla has made important demands from the Prime Minister regarding the security of the Golden Temple. He has proposed to declare Amritsar a no war zone. He has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. At the same time, former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has also written a similar demand to Modi. Randhawa wrote on X that I have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting that Shri Amritsar Sahib ji be declared as “No-War Zone” internationally.

Randhawa further wrote that Shri Harmandir Sahib is not an ordinary place, it is the soul of Sikhism and a spiritual symbol of peace. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect the sanctity and pride of Shri Amritsar Sahib Ji, I hope that the central government will see my appeal as not political, but as protecting the symbol of peace. At the same time, Aujla said that after the claim of a Major General of the Indian Army, this demand has become even more important. The Major General had said that the Pakistani Air Force had tried to target the Golden Temple. This claim has created concern in the Sikh community around the world.

The MP said that the Golden Temple is the most sacred site of Sikhism. Millions of devotees from all over the world come here. Like the Vatican City, he has also demanded permanent and non-political security arrangements for the Golden Temple. The MP has also demanded UNO to give international recognition and protection to this holy site. He says that this place should be kept away from any military or political goal in future. The Golden Temple is a symbol of world peace and its security is the common responsibility of India and the international community. He said that this demand should be seriously considered and it should be considered as soon as possible.
