Last month, there were reports that after release in theaters, Aamir Khan’s next film, star on the land, will be available on YouTube with pay-per-view options. Actor-film producers were leaving the traditional model of releasing Bollywood films on streamers such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. A new report states that Netflix has increased its price to Rs 125 crore to buy streaming rights of Hindi film. Aamir Khan has rejected these rumors. Now, recently at ‘Taare Zameen Par’ fan meet held in Mumbai, he offered to release the 2007 film on his YouTube channel for a limited time.
During the program, Host Lakshya Maheshwari found that online Trivia suggested that Aamir Khan is Aamir Khan and Aamir’s parents in photos with boat in the scene of ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Aamir corrected them and said, “No, it is not my parents. I think it is someone else’s parents! Maybe this is Amol Gupte’s parents. I don’t know. But it is not my parents at all.” The host expressed his desire to show the scene, but revealed that he could not do so, as the ‘star on the ground’ is not available on any streaming platform.
Aamir Khan agreed and said, “Yes, the film is nowhere.” He then made a suggestion and offered to release the film on YouTube. He said, “I do one thing. I have started a YouTube channel called Aamir Khan Talkies. I would tell my team to upload the star on the ground for free. It can be available for 1-2 weeks.” Aamir did not clarify when the film will stream on YouTube and fans are eagerly waiting for its announcement.
Aamir Khan later attended the fan meat event held on Monday evening along with the co-star Darsheel Safari, Tisca Chopra and Vipin Sharma.
