Manipur Violence | Union Home Secretary discussed the issue of law and order with the Governor of Manipur on the border

A high -level central party led by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan visited two relief camps in Churachandpur district of Manipur on Monday.An official of the Manipur Home Department said that after the Assam Rifles landed on the Helipad in Veng in Churachandpur district, the central party went to a relief center in Dorkas Venag of New Lamka, where the Home Secretary inaugurated a crocle convenience for children and sewing program for women. The purpose of these two programs is to help and empower women and children.

The statement said that a meeting was held on Monday between the Union Home Secretary and the Governor of Manipur in which the Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Tapan Kumar Deka, the Chief Secretary of Manipur, the security advisors and senior officials of the Manipur Government and senior officials were present.

The statement said, “The meeting focuses on major issues related to the state including relief and rehabilitation efforts for internal displaced persons (IDPs), border fences and overall law and order situation. According to the statement, during the meeting, relief measures issued for IDP were reviewed during the meeting during the meeting and long -term persons provided to the displaced persons, the status and their permanent reasons were provided for the displaced persons. The plan was evaluated in detail.

In the meeting, progress in the work of fencing the Indo-Myanma border and the law and order situation in the state was also discussed. Earlier on Monday, the central team led by Union Home Secretary and IB Director interacted with internal displaced persons in two relief camps in Churachandpur and inspected the situation of both camps.

The team visited the relief center at Dorkas Veng, where the Union Home Secretary inaugurated a ‘Crach’ facility for children and sewing programs for women. The team also visited a relief camp at Sadbhavna Mandap in Tuibong, where Govind Mohan inaugurated a craf with a library for children at the camp. Manipur Chief Secretary P.K. Singh, Director General of Police Rajiv Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Dharun Kumar S and other officers were also present.
