Erdoan appointed legal experts for the new constitution

Turki President Rajab Tayyab Erdoan said on Tuesday that he has appointed a team of legal experts to start work on a new constitution. His critics say that he can remain in power even after the end of his current term in 2028.

Erdoan, who has been leading as the President of Turki since 2014, had been the Prime Minister of the country for more than a decade before. He has advocated a new constitution and argued that the present Constitution which was prepared after a military coup in 1980 is now outdated and despite many amendments, it remains elements of military influence.
