Telangana Chief Minister A. by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald case. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Executive Chairman KT Rama Rao on Saturday demanded his resignation after Revanth Reddy was named in the charge sheet.
Addressing reporters, Rama Rao claimed that the ED has hurt the state’s honor at the national level by the inclusion of the name of the Chief Minister in his charge sheet.
Former Chief Minister K.K. Rama Rao, son of Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), said, “We demand that Revanth Reddy voluntarily resigns or ask him to resign to ensure an impartial investigation of the Congress.”
He questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “silence” and said, “Why Rahul Gandhi is not saying anything? Along with you, one of your Chief Minister’s name is also registered in the charge sheet. Along with this, he alleged that BJP leaders in Telangana are also silent on the matter.
Rama Rao claimed that this is the connivance of Congress and BJP in the state. He alleged that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Center is protecting Revanth Reddy amid allegations of corruption.
The accused filed by the ED stated that some Congress leaders donated the ‘Young Indian’ and ‘Associated Journal Limited’ (AJL) on the instructions of senior leaders as not doing so could harm their political career and businesses. The charge sheet was filed in the court on April 9, but the court has not yet taken cognizance of it.
