Several people were injured in a knife attack at the busy main railway station in Hamburg city in Germany, some of whom remained critical. The officers provided this information.
Officials said a woman has been arrested as a suspect in the case. According to police, the attacker targeted the people present on platforms 13 and 14 of the station.
Located in the main areas of Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany, this station is a major center of local, regional and long distance trains. According to the German news agency ‘DPA’, Hamburg’s fire service said that six people suffered murderous injuries, while three others were seriously injured and three suffered minor injuries.
However, the police said in a post released on the social media forum ‘X’ that there are no “strong figures” so far, but “many” people have suffered serious injuries. Police said a 39 -year -old woman has been arrested and it is believed that she alone has carried out the incident. However, immediate information about the motive behind the attack is not found.
Regional public broadcaster ‘NDR’ said that the attack took place in front of a standing train after six o’clock in the local time. After the attack, the doors of a high-speed ICE train could be seen open on the platform.
