President Draupadi Murmu has rewarded the brave soldiers of the country. During a ceremony held on Thursday, President Draupadi Murmu has awarded six Kirti Chakra and 33 Shaurya Chakra Awards to the country’s brave soldiers.
Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel have been honored in this program. All personnel showed courage and extraordinary valor in time of crisis. During this time Draupadi Murmu has provided six Kirti Chakras including four posthumous. Explain that Kirti Chakra is India’s second largest valor award. The government has also released the list of award winners. According to this, Colonel Manpreet Singh of Sikh Light Infantry, two other military personnel of Rashtriya Rifles and an officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police were awarded posthumously.
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that President Murmu, the supreme commander of the armed forces, also provided 33 brave chakras to the armed forces, central armed police forces and state/union state police personnel during the Defense Adornment ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, seven of which have been posted posthumously. Maratha Light Infantry, Major Malla Ram Gopal Naidu of 56 Rashtriya Rifles and Major Manjit of 22 Rashtriya Rifles were given Kirti Chakra.
The statement said that Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, 63 Rashtriya Rifles Rifleman Ravi Kumar; Sikh Light Infantry, 19 Rashtriya Rifles Colonel Manpreet Singh; Artillery Regiment, 28 Rashtriya Rifles Nayak Dilwar Khan; And Himayun Muzammil Bhat, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police, was posthumously awarded India’s second largest peacekeeping valor award. Rashtrapati Bhavan later also shared pictures of the ceremony in a post on its official ‘X’ handle. The post said, “President Draupadi Murmu provided the Shaurya Chakra to Squadron Leader Flying (Pilot) Deepak Kumar. He prevented the possible loss of life and property by taking a bold decision to take off the aircraft in the dark night.
