IPL 2025: KKR did not like BCCI’s new decision, raised questions

Kolkata Knight Riders have questioned the BCCI’s decision to change the terms of the game in the middle of the IPL. KKR CEO Venki Mysore said that he has sent a letter to IPL COO Hemang Amin, objecting to the board’s decision that the extra time has been increased from 60 minutes to 120 minutes to complete a full game.

Mysore described the reason for writing a letter to Amin on May 17, which was canceled in the rain against RCB, which severely affected his possibility of reaching his playoffs. He believes that that night an extra time of 120 minutes could have caused the possibility of fighting at least five overs per paper.

BCCI changed rules

This was the same day when the IPL started again after being suspended due to the India-Pakistan struggle for a week. The BCCI is reserved for the playoffs on Tuesday, but a decision has been taken in view of the impact of monsoon in some parts of the country. The BCCI said that an additional one hour allocation will be done for the remaining league phase matches similar to the playoff stage which will start from Tuesday.

The BCCI has handed over the final to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This ground will host the qualifier-2 of the playoffs. Apart from this, the domestic ground of Punjab Kings, Mullangpur, will host the first qualifier as well as the eliminator match.
