Siraj Ur Rehman, 29, a resident of Vijayanagaram in Andhra Pradesh, has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody after being arrested in allegations related to terrorist conspiracy. Confirming this, the Superintendent of Police of Vijayanagaram said that the arrest was made at the Vijayanagaram II Town Police Station under Section 152 and other relevant provisions of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

Bachelor of Engineering Rahman was arrested after a joint operation by counter-intelligence units in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Authorities seized explosive materials including ammonia, sulfur and aluminum powder from his possession. Investigation revealed that Rahman had bought these substances online and tested an improvised explosive device (IED) made in a house in a wild area near Rampachodavaram.

The Andhra Pradesh Police, coordinating with the Telangana police, launched a joint operation in which both suspects of plotting blasts were arrested in Hyderabad. Rehman (29), a resident of Vijayanagaram, was detained after a secret information. Police had earlier said that explosives including ammonia, sulfur and aluminum powder were seized during the search from its premises. Latha said that the police also got several pipes from Rahman with ‘intentions to make bombs’. Rahman revealed some things during interrogation after which Sameer (28) from Hyderabad was detained. The police have registered a case in this regard under the Explosives Act, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the relevant provisions of the Code of India.
