About 25 thousand teachers and non -teaching staff, who have lost jobs in the West Bengal Teacher Recruitment Scam, have been demonstrating for the last 6 days. On Monday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that there are less teachers among the agitators, the number of outsiders is more.
The Chief Minister said, ‘I am not against any performance, but there is a Laxman Rekha. Just as I cannot stop anyone, no one can stop me. Instead of agitating, they should fight their case in court. We will help all. ‘ Mamta said these things during a media interaction at Kolkata Airport.
At the same time, the protesters denied Mamata’s claim. He appealed to the Chief Minister to come to the dharna site and said that he should come and see whether the number of outsiders is more among those who staged the sit -in for the last 5 days.
In fact, on 15 May, the movement of protesters in Kolkata outside the education department headquarters ‘Vikas Bhawan’ became fierce. There was a clash between teachers and police. The protesters broke the barricades and broke the gate and entered the Vikas Bhawan premises. Police lathi -charged, in which around 100 teachers were injured.

The Supreme Court had extended the job of dismissed teachers found untreated after the CBI investigation on 17 April till 31 December. Mamta Banerjee said that the state government will file a review petition in the Supreme Court and appealed to the teachers to maintain trust.
Mamta had said that a review petition will also be filed in the Supreme Court for Group C and Group D employees who have lost their jobs.
The Supreme Court said- teachers will be able to teach till the new process is completed On April 17, the Supreme Court gave relief to about 26,000 dismissed teachers. The court said that teachers whose appointment has been canceled can continue to teach till the new selection process is completed. However, this relief was only for teachers whose names have not come in the 2016 scam case.
Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna said- Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) will have to issue a notification of the recruitment process by May 31. The selection process should be completed by 31 December. The Government of Bengal and SSC will have to issue advertisement for recruitment by 31 May and hand over the entire schedule to the court. If the process is not completed within the stipulated time, the court will take appropriate action and fine.
