The Indian Air Force celebrated its 93rd anniversary on October 8, but this time the celebration had a different twist. At the event, the IAF prepared a special menu card which showcased its operations with satire and humour. This menu card quickly went viral on social media.
The menu cards had dishes named after Pakistani cities and terrorist hideouts. Looking at it, it was clear that this was not just a food card, but also a symbol of the accuracy and strength of the Indian Air Force. The headline read, “93 Years of IAF” and the sub-heading read “Infallible, Impervious and Precise.”
The main menu had names like Rawalpindi Chicken Tikka Masala, Rafiqui Rara Mutton, Sargodha Dal Makhani and Jacobabad Mewa Pulao. Dessert included Balakot Tiramisu, Muzaffarabad Kulfi Falooda and Muridke Meetha Paan.
This initiative was well received on social media. People were commenting on its satire and humor. Someone wrote, “Muridke meetha paan is the best,” while someone joked, “Uri ki puri should have been added as well.”
The basis of this menu was the precision air strikes during Operation Sindoor carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on 6 May. These attacks included terrorist targets such as Sawai Nala and Syedna Bilal Camp in Muzaffarabad, Gulpur and Abbas Camp in Kotli, Markaz Taiba in Muridke and Markaz Subnallah in Bahawalpur. This action was taken to specifically target the terrorist centers of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
According to a PIB press release, the operation was carried out on land, air and sea and demonstrated excellent coordination between the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. The Indian Air Force weakened the terrorism network by carrying out precise air strikes on these targets.
The purpose of this menu card and celebration was not just to celebrate, but it was also a message. The Indian Air Force is always ready with its strength and accuracy. It also shows that a little mischief and humor can be celebrated along with safety and patriotism.
