During a raid on Wednesday, 93 thousand vials of banned cough syrup containing codeine worth about Rs 2 crore were recovered in a warehouse located in Rohania area of Varanasi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Varuna Zone) Pramod Kumar said that based on the information received, the police team made this recovery during a raid in Bhadwar area.
This syrup is used for intoxication. Kumar said that a person is being detained and interrogated. A team has been formed to arrest the warehouse owner Mahesh Singh. Apart from this, the drug department and ANTF team have also been called.
