Kurukshetra police have arrested an accused who cheated in the name of sending abroad. The accused promised to send Librarian’s son to Australia for Rs 7 lakh. After cheating the money, the mobile of the accused was found closed and a lock was also found on the office.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Varun Singla, Ladwa police station has detained Satbir Singh, a resident of Mohali. The case is related to Mohit Kumar, a librarian working at Kurukshetra University. Mohit wanted to send his son abroad on a study visa. The owner of a consultancy office located in Sector-18 of Chandigarh promised to send him abroad for Rs 7 lakh.
Money taken in the name of university fees and insurance
According to the complaint, on March 18, Mohit deposited his son’s documents and a fee of 5 thousand rupees. After this, the accused took Rs 5.48 lakh on April 2 in the name of Australian University fees, Rs 71 thousand in the name of insurance on 17 April and Rs 89,600 in the name of Embassy fees on 18 April.
Office also closed in Chandigarh
When the victim called the accused in August, all his numbers were found closed. The office in Chandigarh was also closed. Investigation revealed that the accused had escaped. On the complaint of the victim, an investigation was started by registering a case at Ladwa police station, after which the accused was arrested.
