The Air India plane to London crashed five minutes after flying from Ahmedabad Airport. The aircraft, called Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was riding 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. In the photographs obtained from the Meghani region where the plane crashed, dense black smoke is visible in the air. The flight was identified as Air India 171, which was shown by online flight trackers as a service at 1:10 pm to Gatvik Airport in London from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The aircraft was being flown by Captain Sumit Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder.
