Police has recovered cash worth Rs 50 lakh in Samrala of Khanna in Ludhiana. This action was taken at the block on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh National Highway near the Heads Outpost. Police stopped an Innova going from Chandigarh to Ludhiana on suspicion.

According to the information, there were two property dealers in the car. One Ranjit Singh is a resident of Chandigarh and the other is from Ranjit Singh Banud. During the search, a weighty envelope was found from the car. It had 100 pits of 500-500 notes. The total amount was 50 lakh rupees. When the police asked about the source of this amount, both could not show any strong evidence.
The amount was handed over to the Income Tax Department
According to SHO Holy Singh, the Samrala police station has been lodged. The amount recovered has been handed over to the Income Tax Department for investigation. The department will now examine the source of this amount and its destination.
