After a sudden flood in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, the people of Dharali village have refused to take an immediate assistance of Rs 5,000 from the government. He says that this amount is ‘insufficient’ given the huge loss in this terrible disaster.
This assistance was given to the flood affected families of Dharali and Harshil as ‘immediate relief’, but the villagers have opposed the government of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of less assessing their losses.

In this case, Prashant Arya, District Magistrate of Uttarkashi, said that this amount of Rs 5,000 is just an initial help. He assured that after a complete assessment of the loss and a detailed report is prepared, the affected will be given the correct compensation.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for those families whose houses have been completely destroyed. Apart from this, the same amount will be given to the families of those killed in the disaster. The government has formed a three-member committee under the chairmanship of the Revenue Secretary, which will prepare a plan for rehabilitation and reinstatement of livelihood. Its initial report will be submitted within a week.
Meanwhile, rescue operations continued for the fifth day. People trapped by helicopters were evacuated safely and food packets were delivered to remote areas. The teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) worked to remove debris in Dharali Bazaar with the help of dog squads and thermal imaging equipment, where many hotels, homestones and shops were completely ruined due to landslides on Tuesday.
