5 killed, rescue continues due to wall collapse in Delhi’s Humayun Tomb

A fierce accident occurred due to a wall collapse in Humayun’s mausoleum complex of Humayun in Delhi. Five people including three women and two men have lost their lives in this incident. The rescue operation continues by the Delhi Fire Service.

There has been a major accident in Humayun’s mausoleum complex located in Nizamuddin area of Delhi. On Friday afternoon, five people died after falling part of a dargah wall inside the campus. The dead include three women and two men.

Rescue operations continue

The information of the incident was received at around 3:51 pm to Delhi Fire Service, after which rescue teams immediately reached the spot. Officials said that seven more people are still feared buried in the debris, for which rescue operations are going on. So far 11 people have been safely taken out of the scene and have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Humayun’s tomb is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a major tourist destination of the 16th century, where a large number of tourists visit throughout the year.
