Bank deputy manager Shashibhushan Kumar said, ‘We were working in the bank at 11:30 in the morning. Meanwhile, 8 to 9 crooks came. Some crooks were also standing outside. Looted for 45 minutes. Open the locker at gunpoint. Around 1.5 million cash and 5 crore gold escaped.
Sadar DSP Sanjay Pandey reached the spot as soon as the incident was received. A search operation is being conducted in the surrounding areas. The CCTV footage of the bank is being investigated to identify criminals.
After receiving information about the incident, SP Ashok Mishra himself reached the spot.
The crooks entered the bank as customers
The deputy manager of the bank said, ‘At around 11:30 am, the number of 2-2 first miscreants came in in the name of opening the account. Asked what the document would be needed. We were talking about this.
During this time 7 more crooks entered. All the people were taken at gunpoint and looted the jewel of about 5 crore rupees in addition to 15 lakhs kept in the bank counter. During this time, the miscreants also took the mobile of all bank workers.
After executing the incident, the crooks escaped comfortably. This bank is located in the market. There are many shops below it, but people did not even know about it.
After the incident, the bankers were scared.
Shopkeepers did not get a clue below
Krishna Kumar, who runs cyber cafes under the bank, said, ‘We did not even get a clue of loot in the bank. After the arrival of the police, we came to know that there was a robbery in the bank above.
Javed Akhtar, who runs the shop in front of the bank, said- ‘See the administration vehicles, then it was found that there was robbery in the bank. No sound of siren was heard during the bank robbery. There was no sound of shouting of bank worker or customer.
Police reached the bank after getting information about the incident.
‘Siren was not working, there was no guard’
SP Ashok Mishra told- ‘The miscreants had locked all the employees in a room. Customers sitting inside also took mobile. The robbery amount is 15 lakh and about 4.5 million jewels.
‘CCTV installed in and around the bank is being investigated. A police team has been engaged in the direction of escape of criminals. He is trying to identify him.
‘We got information about the incident long later from the bank. Immediately the team of Dial 112 arrived, after which we reached the spot. Investigation is being conducted about whether the bank’s siren was working. Also there was no guard in the bank. Information will be obtained from the senior officer of the bank about this.
Police of two police stations reached the spot
After getting information about the looting in the bank, the police of Sumit Nagar and Mufassil police station have reached the spot. In addition to SP Ashok Mishra, in the presence of SP Sanjay Pandey, the police have reached the spot and started investigating.
