5.3 magnitude earthquake in Balochistan, Pakistan, five people injured

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Sunday, injuring at least five people. This information was received from media news. Tauqir Shah, an official of the paramilitary force, said that the center of the earthquake was near the city of Barkan and it came at around 3:30 pm local time.

He said, “We have reported at least five people injured in Rara Shaim area near Barkar, including a couple.” At the same time, the American Geological Survey reported the earthquake to the center of the city about 60 km from Barkan city.

According to preliminary reports in the media, about 12 houses were damaged during the earthquake, while several houses in the affected areas got cracks. Some reports claimed that the intensity of the earthquake was 5.5 on the Richter scale.
