Delhi government minister Somnath Bharti reached Jantar Mantar late on Wednesday night with a bed without permission. Some supporters were injured while taking down the folding when policemen tried to stop them. The wrestlers rioted on this. The police reached the spot and detained 40 people, including the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal.

Earlier, the wrestlers shared a video on the internet media and alleged that the policemen arrived at the protest site in a drunken state and made rude comments on the women wrestlers. On receiving the information, a large number of police personnel arrived and pacified the matter. In the 35-second video that was broadcast, a policeman was sitting on the ground with folded hands. The wrestlers were saying from behind that the policeman is drunk.

On this whole episode, DCP of New Delhi district Pranav Tayal says that the policemen neither beat up any wrestler nor abused anyone.
