Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra married former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Pinaki Mishra in a private ceremony adorned with stars abroad. A picture of the wedding has gone viral on social media, in which 50-year-old Moitra and 65-year-old Mishra are seen holding each other’s hand and smiling. However, no official confirmation of marriage has been made by both politicians. According to media reports, the wedding took place in Germany.

Who is Pinaki Mishra?
Born on 23 October 1959 in Puri, Odisha, Pinaki Mishra is an experienced politician and senior advocate. He has a BA (Honors) in history from St. Stephens College and LLB degree from Law Faculty of Delhi University. He started his political life with the Indian National Congress, won the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996, and later joined the Biju Janata Dal and was selected several times again including Jeet in 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Members of many parliamentary committees
During his political tenure, Pinaki Mishra has been a member of several major parliamentary committees, including Finance Standing Committee, Business Advisory Committee, Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Defense, Civil Aviation Standing Committee and Counseling Committee of Law and Justice. Pinaki Mishra contested from Puri Lok Sabha seat as Congress candidate in 1996 and won against Braj Kishore Tripathi, who was then MP and Union Minister from Puri. Pinaki, a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of India, has advocated cases in almost all High Courts and major tribunals across India. Earlier, she was married to Sangeeta Mishra. Now, he is married to TMC MP Mahua Moitra from Krishnanagar in West Bengal. He has a son and a daughter from the first marriage.
