4.9 magnitude earthquake in western Nepal

An earthquake of 4.9 magnitude struck Far West province of western Nepal on Thursday. There is no immediate news of any damage due to the earthquake. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring Centre, the earthquake was recorded at 1:08 am, with its epicenter located in Dantola area of ​​Bajhang district.

Bajhang district is located about 475 kilometers west of Kathmandu. Earthquake tremors were also felt in neighboring districts Bajura, Baitadi and Darchula. There is no immediate news of any damage due to the earthquake.

Nepal is located in one of the most active tectonic zones (seismic zones four and five), making it extremely sensitive to earthquakes. Many earthquakes occur here every year.
