During interrogation, he told that his partner Vaibhav Mishra also has an illegal weapon. Vaibhav Mishra was then arrested with a 315 bore pistol.

During the investigation, the police reached Jagpreet Singh, who reportedly bought a third pistol from both. Based on his revelations, the police recovered a total of three pistols and live cartridges. Pawan, a partner of the accused, is still absconding.

Ajit released on bail in January

ADCP said that it is believed that weapons have been ordered from Uttar Pradesh and other states. Police said that Ajit Singh has a criminal history and three cases have been registered against him in different police stations. He was released on bail in January 2025, two months ago.

The three accused were produced in the court and have been sent on three days police remand. The police is now investigating this network so that weapons are coming from where and on which scale it is being traded.

Police engaged in identification of people involved in the gang

Efforts are also being made to identify others involved in the smuggling gang. Adcp Brar said that the accused used to bring pistols from outside the state and sell them in Ludhiana. We are trying to locate their entire supply chain. If more people are found involved, strict legal action will be taken.
