2500 people were taken to a safe place in Hoshiarpur


Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal visited the flood affected areas of Mukerian and Tanda and took stock of the situation. So far, more than 2500 people have been taken to safe places from the flood-affected villages of Mukerian, Haled, Motla, Bela Saryana, Koli. He said that the teams of NDRF and SDRF are continuously carrying out rescue operations.

People shifted to relief camp

DC Komal Mittal said – due to release of water from Pong Dam, there has been flooding in the area. Along with this, all the rescued people have been sent to the relief camp. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials of the Drainage Department to keep a special vigil on the Dhusi Dam adjacent to the flood-affected villages. Try to repair the edges as well as, where necessary, repair the appropriate areas quickly.

During this entire calamity, there has been heavy destruction in many areas of Punjab. Meanwhile, the water also became contaminated. Due to which the risk of people and animals getting sick has increased. Due to which the administration has also asked the health department to be vigilant. Along with this, the animal husbandry department will also take special care of the area. The animal husbandry department is also making adequate arrangements for fodder for the animals.
