A new IMDB report has recognized Shah Rukh Khan as the most successful star of India, which is after analysis of the top five most popular Indian films every year from January 2000 to August 2025. A study based on more than 9.1 million user ratings worldwide shows that Khan acted in 20 of the 130 most popular Indian films during this period.

The report titled 25 years (2000–2025) of Indian cinema was released by IMDB on Tuesday. IMDB is a database of films globally, with a monthly user over 25 million.

Most popular Indian movies
It is based on the top five most popular Indian films released each year between January 2000 and August 2025, collectively rating over 91 million users worldwide. According to the study, Khan maintained his dominance in the early 2000s, and starred in eight of the 25 most popular films released between 2000 and 2004. He remained continuously in the IMDB’s “popular Indian celebrities” list due to his popularity, even though he did not release any of his films in a year and was included in the top 10 every week in 2024.
