While sharing information about the achievements related to the ‘Communication Saathi’ app and portal during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha on July 30, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that about 29 lakh mobile numbers have been disconnected so far, 5.5 lakh mobile handsets have been blocked, 20 thousand bulk SMS sendors have been banned, and about 24 lakh WhatsApp have been blocked.
The minister said in the post on ‘X’, “Law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, telecom service providers (TSPs) and a useful stakeholder meeting on Communications with Civil contributors. We are firm to create a strong, faster and more collaborative response system, ensuring the safety of every mobile user in India. ”
