There has been a big and shocking discovery in Megha village of Fatehgarh sub-division of Jaisalmer district. Here a unique vertebrate fossil is found here, which scientists are also surprised to see.
Senior Water-Foreigner Dr. Narayan Das Inekhia said that this fossil is very special because the entire part of the spine can be seen in it. He has estimated that it could be about 18 million years old.

Why is this discovery special?
According to Dr. Inekhia, this fossil is a solid proof of the rich geological history of Jaisalmer. This discovery is expected to get many new information, as Dinosaur’s footprints and bones have been found in Jaisalmer earlier. This new fossil may also be part of a dinosaur or any other giant organism of Jurassic period. Fossils also have feathers, which make it even more rare.
After this discovery, this area of Jaisalmer has become a new and important center for fossil scientists and researchers around the world.
