At least 15 people were killed in a bus accident in Badulla district of Uva province of Sri Lanka, while the same number of others were injured. The police gave this information on Friday.
According to the police, more than 30 people went out on a tourism trip from the Southern Sri Lankan city of Tangle, but on Thursday night, their bus fell into a deep ditch near Ella town at around 9 pm local time.
Before the accident, the bus collided with a jeep coming from the front, after which the bus collided with the road railing and fell into the ditch. The dead include nine women. All the people were employees of the Tangal Urban Council (City Council).
According to the newsfrend web portal, the army, police, disaster management forces and local residents conducted relief and rescue operations after the accident. According to Adarerana news, all the injured have been admitted to Badulla Teaching Hospital, many of which are said to be critical.
