Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India and Japan are fully committed to an independent, open, peaceful, prosperous and rule-based Hind-Pacific region. Our concerns about terrorism and cyber security are the same. Our shared interests are related to defense and maritime security. We have decided to further strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of defense industry and innovation. The partnership between India and Japan is based on mutual belief, which reflects our national priorities and takes shape from our shared values and beliefs, we move together with a common dream of peace, progress and prosperity for our people and the world. As part of the action plan for human resource exchange, 5 lakh human resource exchange from both sides will be encouraged in the next 5 years. 50 thousand skilled Indians will contribute to the economy of Japan. The partnership between India and Japan will not be limited to Delhi and Tokyo … This will open new doors of trade, tourism, education and cultural exchange.

PM Modi said that we believe that Japanese technology and Indian talent are a victorious combination. We are working on high-speed rails, as well as in areas such as ports, aviation and shipbuilding under Next Generation Mobility Partnership. We welcome the consent between ISRO and Jaxa for cooperation in the Chandrayaan 5 mission. Our Joint Credit Mechanism is a major victory for energy, showing that our Green partnership is as strong as our economic partnership. In this direction, we are also launching continuous fuel initiative and battery supply chain partnership. We are starting the economic security cooperation initiative, under which we will move forward with a comprehensive approach in important and strategic fields … In this context, Digital Partnership is being worked on 2.O and AI Cooperation initiative.

PM Modi said that today we have laid a strong foundation for a new and golden chapter of our special strategic and global partnership. We have prepared a roadmap for the next decade. The core of our vision has investment, innovation, economic security, environment, technology, health, mobility, exchange and direct, transparent partnership. We have set a target of investing 10 trillion yen from Japan in 10 years. Special emphasis will be laid on adding small and medium enterprises and startups of India and Japan.
PM Modi said that I thank Prime Minister Ishiba for his intimate words and warm welcome. Today our discussions were useful and purposeful. We both agreed that our partnership as the world’s two largest economies and vibrant democracy is extremely important not only for our two countries, but also for global peace and stability.
